MM Rubbish Clearance cleared a mixed load from a residential property in Hampstead NW3 during a renovation. Stripped floorboards, timber lengths, plywood sheets and an old door had been stacked against the frontage, along with general renovation debris. The customer wanted the lot gone in one go rather than split between a skip and tip runs.
A mixed load is harder to deal with than a clean one. Renovation debris and general household waste have different weights, different handling and different disposal routes, and once they are stacked together someone has to separate them — either on site as the van is loaded, or at cost later.
Most of what came out here was long timber and board: stripped floorboards, plywood sheets and a door, all of which have to be stacked and broken down properly or they fill a van with air rather than material. Sorting and breaking down happened at the pile as the van filled, rather than being left to sort out at the tip. The alternative the customer was weighing up — a skip plus several trips to the tip — would have meant a permit, days of a parking bay taken, and hours of their own time. The load was collected within the London Borough of Camden and taken to a licensed recycling and waste transfer station.
