Normally the estate pays — the cost is a legitimate estate expense, settled by the executor before the remainder is distributed. If the property is rented, the family or executor usually arranges clearance before the tenancy ends. We can invoice the estate or solicitor directly.
Where suitable reuse or donation routes are available, we'll use them where practical. Remaining material is taken to licensed waste facilities for sorting, recycling and responsible disposal. Nothing is fly-tipped — ever.
Sometimes partially. Charities like the British Heart Foundation collect furniture free — but only items in good, resellable condition, and they won't clear a full property. Most clearances end up as a mix: donate what charities will take, and we clear everything else.
