MM Rubbish Clearance carried out a commercial clearance at a newly fitted restaurant on King's Road, Chelsea SW3. The fit-out had left the premises stacked with cardboard boxes, protective packaging and plastic wrapping from equipment and furniture deliveries. The business needed it all gone in a single visit, without blocking the shop front in the run-up to opening.
Nearly all of the load was clean, dry cardboard, polystyrene and packaging film left behind after the fit-out deliveries. It is bulky rather than heavy — a few large appliance cartons will fill a van on their own — so three operatives broke the boxes down at the pile while the loading carried on, and the volume roughly halved before anything reached the vehicle.
Access was through the rear service corridor rather than the King's Road frontage, which kept the shop front clear but meant a longer carry out to the vehicle. Parking is the real constraint on this stretch: on-street commercial loading is restricted, so the collection was worked around the permitted loading window rather than left open-ended, with one operative at the van and two carrying. Because the load was almost entirely clean cardboard and packaging, approximately 95% of it was recycled. It was collected within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and taken to a licensed recycling and waste transfer station, and a Waste Transfer Note was issued to the business for its records — the document every commercial customer is legally required to keep. The premises were cleared in a single visit, with the storage area and rear service corridor left clear and swept. The restaurant kept its King's Road frontage open throughout and carried on preparing for opening without interruption. The loading restriction was handled by planning the collection around the permitted window rather than working against it.
