Mattress Removal on College Cross, N1 – Third Floor, No Lift and No Parking in the Compound

MM Rubbish Clearance removed a double mattress, its divan base and a wardrobe from a third-floor flat on College Cross, Islington N1, just off Liverpool Road. The block has no lift and its gated compound has no space for a van, so everything was carried down narrow corridors and stairs, out through the gate and across the road to the vehicle.

What If the Van Can't Get Into My Block's Car Park?

That was the challenge here. This block on College Cross sits inside a gated compound, and a van cannot park inside it. Parking on the road was poor that day, so we parked across the road.

From there, every item had to make the same trip: through the gate, about 10 metres along the path to the main door, buzz in, then up to the third floor with no lift. The corridors are narrow, so the mattress, the divan base and the wardrobe were each carried down the stairs to the main door, along the path, out of the gate and across the road to the vehicle.

Will You Take the Divan Base and Wardrobe Too?

Yes. The mattress, divan base and wardrobe all went in the same visit. The load was collected within the London Borough of Islington and taken to a licensed recycling and waste transfer station. A digital Waste Transfer Note was issued under our Environment Agency registration CBDU418527 (Carrier Dealer – Upper Tier).

Should I Sort Out Parking Before a Bigger Clearance?

Yes, and this job is why. The before and after photos were taken 38 minutes apart, and much of that was spent carrying items from the third floor to a van parked across the road. Our advice: if the job is more than a single item, check where the van can stop and secure a space if you can. Without it, a simple collection becomes a long carry.
