MM Rubbish Clearance collected 20 half-full bags of old render from the pavement on Quick Street, Islington N1, on 30 October 2026. Each bag weighed around 20 kg, so the load came to roughly 400 kg, under half a tonne. That weight set the price at £240. The homeowner had the bags waiting at street level, and our two-person crew cleared the pavement in a few minutes.
On this job it cost £240. Rubble is priced on weight as well as space, because heavy material reaches the van's weight limit long before the van is full. Twenty bags at around 20 kg each comes to roughly 400 kg, which is under half a tonne, so we set a price for this load of £240 rather than charging a full band. For comparison, our builders waste guide prices start from £150 for a small collection and from £280 for a medium one.

Usually, yes. We price builders waste on volume, weight and access. On this job, all 20 bags were already out on the pavement. There was nothing to carry through the house, no stairs and no long walk to the van. Each bag went straight from the kerb into the van.
Filling the bags only halfway helped too. A full bag of render is too heavy to lift safely and tends to split. A bag of around 20 kg can be lifted cleanly and loaded quickly. If the same bags had to come out through a house or up from a basement, the extra carrying time would go into the quote. That's why we ask for photos, your postcode and access details before we price a job.

Old render is heavy, inert building rubble, so it was kept apart from general household rubbish. The load was collected within the London Borough of Islington and taken to a licensed recycling and waste transfer station. A digital Waste Transfer Note was issued under our Environment Agency registration CBDU418527 (Carrier Dealer – Upper Tier).
Very quickly when they're ready at the kerb. Both before photos were taken at 4:46pm and both after photos at 4:49pm. Both spots on Quick Street were left clear, and the residents' bin and recycling box stayed where they were.
