The Clearance and Access

Dismantled stud framing is the deceptive part of an office strip-out. A partition that has been pulled apart looks enormous — a room-sized lattice of timber and lath with nothing but air through the middle of it — but broken down and stacked it loads to a fraction of what it appears. Judging that correctly is the difference between booking one vehicle and two, and in central London that means one loading window instead of two.

The window was the real constraint. Holborn runs restricted loading hours, a controlled parking zone, limited bays and constant pedestrian traffic past the door, so the van could not sit outside while the room was worked through at leisure. Responsible Disposal

The load was collected within the London Borough of Camden and taken to a licensed recycling and waste transfer station. Plasterboard cannot go to landfill mixed with general waste, so it was kept separate as the van was loaded rather than sorted later, and the timber was segregated with it — our responsible rubbish clearance page explains how we handle mixed strip-out loads.
