Office Clearance on Buxton Street, E1 – Three Rooms Above Brick Lane Shops With Nowhere to Park

MM Rubbish Clearance cleared three rooms of an office above shops on Buxton Street, just off Brick Lane in Spitalfields, E1. Everything had to come along a 15–20 metre corridor and down a flight of stairs, and there was nowhere to park. A four-person team staged the furniture first, then loaded one full van in a single double-parked stop.

How Do You Clear an Office When the Van Can't Park Outside?

You split the job in two: carry everything down first, then load it all in one go. Brick Lane has nowhere to stop, so the van waited on another road while the team worked inside.

From the office, every desk and chair went down the stairs, back along the 15–20 metre corridor and out through the main door. It was staged in the side alley next to the building. Electric sit-stand desks are heavy and awkward, so the frames, tops and chairs were taken down separately. Once everything was out and ready, the van came round and double-parked. The team then loaded the whole office in one stop, keeping the van on the street for as little time as possible.

After: the alley on Buxton Street, E1, cleared, with the building's own plant pots left in place.

What Happens to Old Office Desks and Chairs?

The load was collected within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and taken to a licensed recycling and waste transfer station. Electric sit-stand desks have motors and wiring in their frames, so they are not treated as plain general waste: metal and electrical parts are separated where possible. A digital Waste Transfer Note was issued under our Environment Agency registration CBDU418527 (Carrier Dealer – Upper Tier).

Why Did This Office Clearance Need Four Staff?

Because of the parking, not the size of the office. With nowhere to stop, the van could only be on the street while it was loading. Four people meant the carrying down the stairs and along the corridor kept moving while the alley filled up. When the van double-parked, there were enough hands to load a full van quickly and move on. The before photo was taken at 11:18am, partway through staging, and the after photo at 12:54pm.
